It is now possible to allow / disallow guilds from your protection stones. To do this, use '/ps allow' or '/ps remove' respectively. For example, to remove a guild access from your protection stones, use '/ps remove guild:TAG'
Further adjustments have been made to improve the performance of CTP. The "heartbeat" sound should no longer get stuck once the portal is captured. We are looking into an issue where the status board will get stuck on rare occasions
It is now possible to view the status of the CTP area by using '/capture'
It is now possible to use both potions and splash potions in and around the CTP area
We are now releasing the Nether along with Capture the Portal for guilds.
It takes 35 seconds to capture the portal. Once captured, the guild will have sole access to the Nether for 4 hours.
Protection blocks can not be placed in the Nether.
Further weapon optimizations have been made. Attack speed now has an effect when attacking. This means if you are using a sword, there will be a “cooldown” between attacks. This cooldown is internal and is not in line with the 1.13 attack system. In other words, players may spam-click without penalty. Damage will not be dealt until this internal cooldown period is over. When damage is dealt, it will be full damage without penalty. We believe this will benefit those who enjoy the 1.7 attack system while also providing us room to implement custom weapons in the future.
To determine the cooldown period, use the formula (1 / attackSpeed). This will give you the internal cooldown period per attack. In the case of the current...

At 23:56 EST we were targeted by a DDoS attack that lasted for approximately 10 minutes. This is not the first time we have been targeted by a DDoS attack, we have already been targeted twice since launch. This attack however was the largest - it topped out at 10.64Gbps and 505,624 packets per second before affecting our availability.
We had plans in place to protect the server from these threats however they were still in the process of being rolled out, so the extended downtime after the attack this morning was to apply parts of those plans. We have migrated our servers over to a system better suited to deal with these attacks which will work better with our long term server and community protection plans and will continue to improve as time goes on.
There's no changes required from the community due to this, everything should continue to work as normal.
Attached are a excerpt of our networking logs at the start of the attack:
Mass griefing is not allowed. This goes for bases or the free world map in general. Mass grief will be dealt with on a case-to-case basis. If you are not willing to take a temporary ban or are not willing to clean up what you've created, don't do it.
"Cubing" of bases is not allowed. You must use the protection blocks to protect your base, not just the outside walls. If this is found to be happening, the protection blocks will be destroyed and no refunds will be given. If it continues to happen, we'll take more drastic measures.
You can now use /guild lookup [name] to view a player's guild status. More information will be added to this in the future.
You can now use /. to toggle guild chat.
Guild messages have been changed to be more visible.
We have added three personal protection blocks that can be used by players not inside of a guild. Once you join a guild, you will have until the time you log...

The Freeville Update Patch is drawing near and includes all new, unique features that we have not had in the past. With this patch we will be updating the server to version 1.13.2, and making the Free world accessible. Below I will be explaining the new features and how they're intended to work, but note that features may be tweaked and finely tuned in the upcoming days.
Once you become Free, you can create and join a guild. There is currently no cost to create or join, however you must be in a guild to use land protection blocks.
Most of the guild options are presented in a GUI, minimizing the amount of commands you will need to remember.
To create a guild, use /g create <tag> <name>
To speak in your guild chat, use /. before each message
Using /g will bring up the guild GUI
The war option in the guild GUI is currently disabled and more information about this feature will be released in the future. Until then, we will not be...
Here are some quick updates to share with you guys.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the launch - it was great to see so many of you still excited about playing again. We hit a few snags with some software issues but we were able to narrow it down and get it resolved quickly.
Development & Priorities
As stated in every update post and everywhere it comes up we are very much in development. We've released in stages because that's what the player-base asked preferred. With that that means you get content as it as we finish it. Our next priority is the Free world and the related systems like Guilds, Base Building, etc. You can expect that soon along with the information on how it works along with it.
That being said there are several ways to make this easier for the team - it mostly comes down to: just use the forums. If you have feedback, and issue, or a question post it on the forums. It makes it easier for us to deal with and see.
Free / Beyond the Prison
There's a lot of work still left to be done outside of the prison. Like I said in other posts we're balancing the fact that people want to play now and the lack of our finished content. So we're going to be releasing most of the content in stages post launch. Keep posted for those announcements.
As for now @NotoriousV2 is working hard to bring you guilds - which will have the protection / war / social aspects built in as for right now we're going to be implementing a temporary...
Beta has started
We're happy to have so many people interested in taking part of the beta and launch. Last night we opened our beta testing up to a handful of users. They've already helped us identify several issues that needed our attention. We're happy with the number of people in the beta at the moment, as we want to keep the group small so we can communicate with them individually and go over any issues they may have.
As I stated in the last announcement - Minecraft has changed a lot since we were last online and we're launching on the back of a major patch that isn't fully supported, so a lot of our systems / plugins are very much in development still. We are trying to find a balance between getting the server to you quickly and having a polished experience - so this beta testing is very important to us.
As of now things are looking good for launching on the 25th - but won't be the full experience. Just understand...
