Beta has started
We're happy to have so many people interested in taking part of the beta and launch. Last night we opened our beta testing up to a handful of users. They've already helped us identify several issues that needed our attention. We're happy with the number of people in the beta at the moment, as we want to keep the group small so we can communicate with them individually and go over any issues they may have.
As I stated in the last announcement - Minecraft has changed a lot since we were last online and we're launching on the back of a major patch that isn't fully supported, so a lot of our systems / plugins are very much in development still. We are trying to find a balance between getting the server to you quickly and having a polished experience - so this beta testing is very important to us.
As of now things are looking good for launching on the 25th - but won't be the full experience. Just understand...
So here's the announcement you've all been waiting for: we'll be re-launching Killion. We're going from Killion Detention Center to just Killion. This is due to the fact that we are going to be expanding the game-play focus beyond just the prison.
If you are familiar with the old server then the starting experience will be very similar, with a few overall changes in game-play. The old prison map is being reused and re-implemented for now. We have plans to redo it in the future, but for nostalgic sake of our old players, we're going to be launching with it.
The main focus and game-play changes will be in the life after prison. Guild interactions, player economy, and character progression will be crucial. This will be rolled out in several stages; we’ll have more information on that as the roll outs occur. You can expect these game-play changes to have a similar “Killion” play style.
