Hello everyone, my name is Mint_Gum and my alternate account is TheSludge. I was a pretty renowned player on Killion back in the day. I am sure that a lot of you will recognize my name as I have played on Killion since early 2012. Perhaps even earlier.

    My hobbies

Some activities I enjoy during my spare time when I am not working or studying are fishing, paddle-boarding, video games, going to the gym, and spending quality time with friends and family.

    My job

My daily job consists of working with low voltage electricity such as, installing Fiber Optic cable, Wi-Fi networks, speakers and televisions, security systems, and data networks.

I also own my own pressure washing company on the side. I love being Self-Employed and someday plan on owning multiple companies. Which leads to my next topic of being an ex Minecraft server owner.

    Being a server owner

First off let me begin by saying that being a server owner comes with a lot of responsibility. You never stop learning and every day brings a new challenge. It is indeed a full-time job. Back in early 2012 I had already been an Admin on multiple servers and helped them grow to become successful. That is how I was able to learn the basics on running a server.

I believe that a server should be simplistic and straightforward. By doing so, it is more accommodating to players. I do believe that a server's community will develop itself overtime eventually leading to a strong tight knit community. That is accomplished by the owner and his/her staff having minimal interference with player life and only providing what it needed to positively influence a thriving community. However, all the servers that I helped succeed had immature inexperienced owners that disagreed with those beliefs and I was fed up with it.

Right around that time when I was sixteen years of age I had just gotten my drivers license. I went up to the bank and opened up a bank account. I then went and got a minimum wage job and once I had enough money in my bank account after the first paycheck I bought my own server.

Fast Forwarding to around late 2015 about four years later I had a thriving self sustaining PvP, Survival, Economy server. It was named, 24-7Survival.com. I had reached my goal of having a steady stream of 50/50 players on 24/7. I had a steady donation income and the server owners I helped out back in the day left their servers to come work for me.

Then all of the sudden out of nowhere everything started going downhill when Mojang released the EULA agreement. Bukkit was in hot water and Mojang started releasing updates that severely messed with servers. All of the core plugins that I used to run my server were now being discontinued by their owners due to fear of Mojang. I knew the end of Minecraft's glory days were coming to an end and I let me server die until there was almost no one left on to play. Eventually I did decide to shut the server down as I had other stuff going on in life that required my attention.

Here is a video that was recorded by one of my players during the last moments before my server was permanently shut down.

I am not going to lie, I did cry a little bit when I shut down my server as it was a giant part of my life. I nurtured that server and gave it all I had and loved every aspect and ever second of being a server owner. It has been a few years but now I am back to play Minecraft again and when I saw Killion alive on my server list I couldn't believe my eyes.

Now you know a little bit about me and I am looking forward to seeing you all in-game!
