Today's update brings in the first iteration of PreciousStones changes to bring them more in line with our previously discussed plans (more about that over in this thread).

    1) Clan Territory Marker - Quartz Block
    a) Used for marking clan territory areas. This is your main stone to mark where your clan base is going to be. A clan marker stone MUST be placed down to use clan protection stones. This stone DOES NOT PROTECT BLOCKS. The only protection this stone offers is flow protection (i.e. water, lava). The territory marker must be placed down by a leader, and is limited to one (1) per guild.
    b) Limit: 1 per clan
    c) Size: 125x125x256 (bedrock to sky limit).
    d) Price: FREE
    2) Clan Protection Stones
    a) Clan protection stones are a new type of stone limited to clan territories. To use them, you must be part of a clan. If, for any reason, should you become a free agent, your stones will be removed and refunded upon your next log out. These stones offer a few perks:
    i) Larger build volumes
ii) Use protection on various objects (buttons, levers, fence gates, pressure plates, etc.).
iii) Inventory access protection; however, inventories may now be broken within these stones.
    3) Clan Protection Tier I - Yellow Stained Clay
    a) Limit: [2, 3]
    b) Size: 15x15x11 (2475 blocks)
    c) Price: $310,000
    4) Clan Protection Tier II - Orange Stained Clay
    a) Limit: [2, 3]
    b) Size: 19x19x11 (3970 blocks)
    c) Price: $500,000
    5) Clan Protection Tier III - Red Stained Clay
    a) Limit: [2, 3]
    b) Size: 25x25x11 (6875 blocks)
    c) Price: $860,000

In the near future, we will be introducing various other stones such as the spawner stone, livestock stone, and farmers’ stone. More information will be supplied once these are released, but the general concept is that they will be necessary to perform certain actions in protected areas. For example, if your clan wants a farm to be protected, they must place a farmer’s stone down for crops to grow in said protected area.

    Thanks.

I'm a little confused about what you're talking about with chests. So chests can be destroyed, but they are protected automatically? What's the point of them being protected if they can be destroyed? Or are you talking about when your clan gets raided or whatever with the system you were talking about with in the future that cheats will be destroyable? Sorry for the spam of questions I'm just highly confused. Thanks.

Good question. So all types of inventories (brewing stands, droppers, chests, etc.) are automatically use-protected; however, they cannot be block-protected. This means if players can get into your base, they can destroy your chests or inventories should they be left in the open. The use-protection prevents players from abusing Minecraft mechanics and opening chests they shouldn't be able to.

The breaking of inventories is not currently live. It'll be implemented after the old protection stones are removed and all players familiarize themselves with the changes (November 20th, 2019).

This is by default. Your clan does not need to "be raided" -- your inventories will be ALWAYS breakable after November 20th.

So, just to make sure I understand properly. If I have a chest, furnace, or brewing stand out in the open, it can be destroyed by anyone even if its in the protected area?

Another question, if you're introducing spawner pstones, how is that going to effect current spawners being built and added?

    Yes, that's correct.

The spawner stone will simply allow the spawning of mobs in a protected area. If you protect your spawners with a clan protection stone (likely the case), you'll also need to place down a spawner stone (or multiple depending on size) to actually have the mobs spawn in the protected area. We'll have more information about those stones soon.

Thanks for the quick replies. So with this update no one can have a personal base then? You HAVE to be in a clan to be able to have any sort of anything in free? That kinda sucks for everyone with personal bases, or for anyone who wants to make a base outside of their clan area. Did you guys intentionally disable personal bases?

And what's the point of chests being locked if you can just destroy them?

The current system is much different than last year. More information will be provided soon, but the general idea is that to have farms in a PROTECTED area, you must throw an additional specific stone down.

That's correct. You MUST be in a clan to use protection stones. A clan is free to make, and so is the clan marker stone. The clan territory marker is 125x125 (bedrock to sky limit). There's plenty of space for a personal building... just not in a far away location. In the future, we'll likely allow clans to have multiple territories. Yes, it's intentional.

Having them only use-protected prevents block-glitching and requires players to "vault" up their belongings or risk losing them leaving them easily accessible in the open. It also allows players to actually steal items should they get into your base legally.

What is the goal of forcing clan members to base next to each other? Just seems like a restriction for the sake of restricting things.

Will there be any rules with these pstones? Will using them to protect just wall sized areas be allowed?
